  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have completed my first of 3 rotations at virgin media o2. the first rotation was 9 months long, and I carried out tasks that a product manager would and assisted in launching a new product. This involved working with lots of different stakeholders for approvals, communication with suppliers and working closely with the wider project team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i have learnt many new skills but also built on my existing skills required for an office based environment. As I am doing rotations I am learning lots about many different areas of the business and different systems used etc. I am working towards my project management APM PMQ qualification and lots of additional training is offered through linked in learning or organised by the Future Careers committee. however, my learning provider is quite poor.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • To this point in time, I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme. I have felt very passionately about my first rotation and could not sing higher praises, and hopefully i will continue to feel this way throughout my following rotations. My scheme has been set up with so much support for the apprentices to help us in all ways we may require.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I am in the first cohort of product management apprentices so the structure has developed stronger as we have moved along the scheme. however, we are very supported with many different contacts to support us in relevant areas from work to learning to just general support in how we are feeling etc. however, the provider (BPP) is not well structured or supportive.
