I aid in completing various accounts testing in order to verify companies financial statements give a true and fair representation of their business
I have learnt numerous new skills, the main ones being key accounting terminology and using excel.
I enjoy learning about specific accounting terminology and being able to use my initiative to create testing procedures. However it it very pressured (in terms of hours and difficulty) the more you progress.
It is well organised. I have block periods for college however for my specific programme I am expected to revise and work at the same time, where others like graduates have full time periods blocked to study and complete exams.
I receive a generous amount of support.
I receive good tuition and support is there if I need it.
I gain key accounting knowledge which definitely aids in my understanding of the work I am completing.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in things such as diversity, monthly newsletters, football etc.
Yes
The apprenticeship alongside the company you work for are good foundations to a good career in finance.
Be yourself and don't be phased by people saying accounting is boring. The best part for me is the investigative element and doing it in the form of numbers will be interesting for a lot of people.
