  • A very high extent :). Being on the degree apprenticeship with Beatty is a blessing from the man upstairs.

  • Very Well! :)

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • More than enough. Balfours put a lot of pressure on line managers and stress the importance of making sure all support is there when needed by apprentices

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As much as any university would support there students. My uni (UCLAN) in particular are excellent when it comes to extra support/guidance.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Within the first 3 years of uni, not a lot to be honest. The modules we did in uni didn't really relate to my job on site as a QS. It's only this year (my 4th year) where I've been able to take a lot of information and knowledge from uni and implement in work.

  • Yes, Balfour Beatty emerging talent team carry out a lot of activities which are aimed at apprentices and graduates.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Balfour Beatty to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • N0.1 main contractor in the UK for a reason. Staff are very well looked after. The pipeline of work takes you through the next 4/5+ years. Balfour cover almost every aspect of construction, so the opportunities are endless.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
  • Soak up as much experience as you can if your coming in as a degree apprentice, it will only put you in a better position when starting.
