Helping to run the day to day running of the kitchen within one of the business units of Jd Wetherspoon making sure food is served to company specification while managing the staff and delivering Great customer service, having great standards achieving company goals and reaching targets set out.
Through the business and the degree apprenticeship I have learnt many new skills of how to work towards goals, as well as developing skills I already had. Skills I have learnt is the ability to be a good leader and the way in which I manage the business as well as well the staff.
I really enjoy the program. I do struggle with completing the sessions online as I am the type of person which learns from face to face interaction. But I have learnt so much which has helped me to become a better business manager and Leader for the organisation.
I think it is well organised. We have all our dates laid out we know what is happening. The one thing I struggle with is trying to get motivated with the online learning. The face to face lessons I really enjoy as able to work with other members of the course.
I am supported by my employer. I think it is hard for them as they don’t 100% understand everything about what is going on but they help and support is there when I ask for it.
Plenty of help easily contactable and supported. No question goes unanswered there is always help if required just have to ask.
Helps me build and have a better understanding as a manager for the business and becoming a better leader and being able to get the buy in of the employees to make the best for and out of the business.
There are no sports teams but i attend a sports team outside of the business. Wishing the business there is a couple of networking groups which are available to join for different areas of the business e.g. women, lgbtq, energy.
Yes
I would recommend the job as there is many opportunities within the business you wouldn’t think were available working in a pub. There are perks as well that you wouldn’t get working anywhere else as well as a lot of support available if required.
Would say give the company a chance it is a very good company to work for has very good training and development and it is more than just a pub company. If you want the opportunities then they are there for you.
