My day to day role involves going out on the construction site to inspect materials used in construction, on top of that we always manage all quality documents relating to inspections, tests, materials and non-conformities. As well as promoting a quality and right first time culture across the project.
I have learnt so many new skills, from improving my IT knowledge, learning loads of new technical knowledge relating to construction as well as leadership[ and communication skills.
I enjoy my programme when I am busy with work and learning new things, I am happy at my workplace so I guess I would say I enjoy it.
My programme is structured in a way which sees me move around every 6 months so I can learn about all aspects of construction from tunnels to structures to quality management in the head office. On the other hand, they was no real plan of what to teach us.
I receive a lot of support from my employer including health and mental health as well as career developement
The training provider does offer support for extra sessions but the sessions can sometimes be hard to follow as they are online learning
My qualification does not help support in my role out on site, but gives loads of tools for career progression and quality management.
