In my current role I have complete QA (Quality Assurance) tasks, this involves testing of features within the development team. When a developer completes a feature we test that it is working as expected for the feature, then automate tests before then passed out to to the end to end testers to do their work on it.
I definitely have improved on many skills, I have developed my understanding in coding and how different features of the website work. I have also become better at communicating, as I have to communicate with my team any errors that I spot when testing and then instruct them on how it needs to be
As well as learning a lot, Sky make sure that the programme is very enjoyable. Everyone will help you as much as they can. The office is a very friendly environment with a great canteen and have a lot of areas to relax when needed, with pool tables and dart boards etc
The programme is very well structured. Having a meeting every 3 weeks with GP Strategies for coursework and getting an afternoon off to complete it gives a good time to get coursework done to a good standard and a good time as well as having a lot of time to improve in my job role.
Every person in Sky does all they can to make sure you are doing the best you can. There are catch up calls regularly to ensure you are feeling okay and are getting on okay with your work and coursework, everyone in the company is really approachable at any time
GP Strategies have also been great to work with in my apprenticeship. Andy my assessor is always approachable and very helpful. I have been able to get through my coursework at a very fast pace and to a high standard. They provide calls around every 3 weeks to check up on progress which is a good time to get coursework done.
The qualification was helpful within my role as i was able to use the skills i learned in my day to day job, which also made it a lot easier to collect data and screenshots to put forward for evidence to my assessor that i was hitting all the required targets
there are always atleast 2 company wide nights out during the year to get involved in aswell as lot of team lunches and dinners to network, there is also a group who do running together at lunch training for a half marathon and also a group who cold water dipping
Yes
it has been a great company to work for from day 1, they always treat everyone fairly, they provide great benefits from discounted services to discounted canteen, they sent all apprentices down to london for a graduation which was great to see the big office and how it works in the main office
