My role on a day to day basis is to provide a reliable and pleasant experience to any guests who walk through the door. This includes dealing with any enquires or complaints and dealing with them in a polite and professional manner and leaving the guest feeling like they have had. Positive experience
Since I have started my apprenticeship I have been able to develop my customer service skills that I have previously occurred over the years being a florist. Since changing career I have learnt many new skills, mainly to do with the computer as this wasn’t something I had to use a lot in my previous career.
Since starting my apprenticeship I have enjoyed learning about all different aspects of the hospitality industry and this leads on to me being able to do the best job I can do and giving the public the experience they expect. I have been able to learn about many things in depth.
I think the programme I am completing is very well structured. I can use to portable to access all my work that is set. I also have deadline dates and if anything’s overdue it will alert me as soon as I log on. This helps me to stay on top of all the work I need to do
I am very lucky. If I am every stuck with my work I have my deputy hotel manager and my hotel manager on hand. Both of my managers have completed the apprenticeships before so can also offer me plenty of guidance when needed. I am always set the time aside to complete all my work.
My training provider is very easy to get along with and always on hand should I need to ask for help or support. I have various different options to get hold of her. I always get a prompt and informal response back and if needed a more in depth chat I can organise a video call with her.
I feel that the qualification helps me to preform better in my role because it makes me look in depth at all situations and to investigate all options that can be taken. It gives me the information and tools that I need to give my guests the best experience when they visit
At the moment in my current role there is no social activities or sports clubs to get involved in. As you progress for example to deputy hotel manager there are meeting that you can attend to meet all the other deputy hotel managers in the region. Currently that’s something that isn’t available to me
Yes
