I meet my team for the client i'm on either in the office or online for a catch up to discuss what tasks I'll be helping with that day. I usually look at what files are in my name and see what I can complete and what questions I need to ask. An associate or senior associate usually coaches me on how to complete my tasks.
Excel skills, communication skills and team work
Everyone I've met at PwC have been nice and the culture is very friendly which helps because I'm not afraid to ask questions
The programme works so that you do some university exams before Christmas which is good because you get an idea about Audit before you go on placement. Then training starts but you get Christmas off. You get a buddy and a career coach for whilst you're on placement. I get delegated tasks from associates and senior associates.
I get good support, everyone gets a career coach and a buddy who is supposed to have regular meetings with you throughout placement. The team you're on is usually a good point of call for support as well.
We get textbooks provided for at university
Being on placement has put a lot of the work we learnt at university into context which I think will help me do better in my exams in summer because it makes more sense.
There are industry socials as well as team socials usually after signing the accounts or team drinks.
