My role is customer service assistant so my duty is to concentrate on the customer side helping them with their enquiry and answering phone calls. I also send invoices out to customers who place an purchase order and record payment we receive. I can also put orders on the systems and send them to be despatched to get sent out for the customers. Every Friday I send remittances out to the suppliers who need paying and uploads invoices on John Lewis supplier site. I am able to reply to customers email and help them out with their enquiry regarding what they need help with.
I have learned to be more confidence when answering the phone calls because before sometimes I would forget asking for the customers name or where they were calling from but now I can confidently talk during the phone calls with the customer and help them with what they are after. I have also gained better communication skills as when I first started I didn’t speak much and was quiet but now I am able to speak freely and feel comfortable in the environment Im working in.
I enjoy my programme so much because I have learnt and gained a lot of new knowledge and learn new things I have never seen before.
My programme is organised so well I have a tutor who gives me tasks to compete every month and I do that within my off the job hours. I also have additional learning support so I can get extra help if I need to. I get looked after well in the work environment and get asked if I enjoy working there.
I receive quite a lot of support from my employer she’s really nice and helpful with showing me new things and how everything works. She ones of the nicest employer I’ve worked with and makes me feel confident with whatever tasks I get set to do. She also comes and checks time to time to see how I’m doing and if I’m getting on okay.
I receive decent amount of support from my training provider when it comes to working towards to my qualifications. I do work skills and call meetings with my tutor every month just to do checkups and see how I’m getting along with the tasks that are set. He has also explained to me what will happens during my duration for this apprenticeship and what to expect as I go along.
It helps more get more understanding of what skills I can gain from my both my qualifications and my work role for my apprenticeship.
We have a work lunch together where we take a day off and all of us go out to eat lunch and enjoy the day all together.
