My day to day role includes chasing carriers to book in their loading/ delivery slots, chasing them if they have not arrived at their booking time. I also inform warehouses of any delays that the carrier has informed me on. Also answer emails and find solutions for carriers when there is no more slots available.
The role has helped me develop my communication skills, i have also learnt how to use new IT systems such as Transporeon and OVT.
I am enjoying the programme as I get to switch roles every year, so i really get an understanding of the different areas within supply chain at Nestle.
Yes very well organised, we have set weeks we attend university and we are given time off from our job to ensure we do not fall behind with the work.
I receive a lot of support, they understand that we have a lot of work that needs to be submitted, so if we are falling behind they do allow us time to get back on track. Also there is so many areas of support within Nestle it is easy to access.
Lincoln are always there when we need them, and are really great at providing feedback on what we have done well and what we are needing to improve.
A our assignments relate to our day to day roles it really helps when they are wanting examples as we have them there so its easy to relate.
Yes we have many activities, we have monthly team dinners. I recently attended the apprenticeship fair at York to represent Nestle. In my current team they also arrange walks in the lake district twice a year.
Yes
Its a really good company to work for as it has so many areas you can get involved in. They have a good support network and understand when you need help. They also have sites/offices all over the world so if you are wanting to work aboard it is a good company to be in.
Be yourself, dont be afraid to ask them questions.
