I work with audit teams to implement digital audit procedures by looking at client data and providing them with insights on how their company works and any inefficiencies they may have. I have frequent calls with internal teams and also have communications with the external clients. I work independently but within a team of peers so have constant support.
I have been able to develop my professional skepticism, through increasing my understanding and gaining confidence. I am now able to question large clients on transactions and know what the answers mean which I never would have been able to do prior to joining EY. This has also improved my communication skills as I have to communicate over calls and emails.
I enjoy my program a lot, my peers are great and the people is the best part of the role. I enjoy being considered an expert in a topic that others may struggle to grasp, and supporting teams in moving forward with better work that is driven by the use of data and bots.
My programme is really clear in structure, I know how I will develop and what progressions will be made over the 4-year course. I still have choices to make about what I want to do but they have sessions and conversations to help guide you towards what you would most be suited to.
My employer provides a counsellor which helps guide me with my career choices and support me at work. I also get support from my managers, who are able to coach me whenever I am stuck or when I need quick top-ups on trainings that I did a while ago. My buddy also supports me with general EY queries.
My training provider gives us support through a skills coach who has frequent catch ups with us and supports us on staying on track and completing assignments. We also get some in-person lessons which allow us to meet everyone and get support as and when we need it which is really valuable.
My qualification gives me a strong foundation for me when working by teaching me a lot of the theory behind the things we do at work, such as learning about robotics process automation and then using that in my role when using bots to complete manual tasks that would take me a lot of admin time I could spend more productively.
I am part of the womens network and have joined frequent calls for this which I am really passionate about. In my office we also have a football team and a netball team, as well as frequent socials and events such as bowling, pizza and drinks, and table tennis tournaments.
Yes
EY supports me well in my career and my studies. The people are great, really friendly and really good at what they do. The environment is amazing, my learning and career are accelerated and I know I work for a firm with a great reputation and values that align with my own.
I would try to align your personal values with EYs values and see how things you do already can match up to your preferred role. Be able to show your passion and desire to work with EY as we want people who are all working towards our common goal. Be yourself and feel comfortable to stand out
