I engage in placements, where I will work for different teams working towards the skills, behaviours and knowledge laid out in the apprenticeship standard and completing projects for the team in order to achieve this. I also attend college once a week to study for my degree.
I have developed a lot of professional skills, communicating with other colleagues, giving presentations, and I have also have developed a lot of technical skills in the fields of cybersecurity and software engineering.
I enjoy my programme a lot as I feel that I am taking control of the work that I do and the skills that I am developing, and I feel that I am developing well professionally while doing something I enjoy.
Very well organised, clearly laid out how the apprenticeship would work and what it would look like over the course of it.
My line manager is very supportive, and will be able to help with any problems, there is also access to a lot of resources, and people throughout the organisation to help you. There is a lot of emphasis on mental wellbeing and reaching out to others.
The training provider gives a lot of support, and are quick and easy to contact via platforms like Teams.
Very much so, the work I do is in line with the apprenticeship standard, and the qualifications are also, so they are very much linked and allow me to perform better in my role.
Yes, I am able to be part of my placement teams social activities and also within my apprenticeship scheme. We are also able to get professional memberships which provide opportunities for professional networks, events and talks that we can go to.
Yes
Very big organisation with a very well constructed apprenticeship scheme and a lot of opportunity and variety in the work, whilst also being fulfilling due to the sector that we are in. Lots of other companies that are partnered and locations all around the country.
Prepare and learn about the organisation as much as possible, the MoD is very large and can be complex so it is good to try and understand it as much as possible. In general, understand what is required from the role, and the more preparation the better.
