I work closely with Engineers in a Desk Base role. I help them plan out their works and get in contact with external contractors to provide additional services to help the engineer to get our customers back into service. I have a Database where I can search up jobs on for addition info
I learned the large database about Openreach. How I can use this information to provide information to our engineers so they can get all they need to complete their works. I can plan permits for traffic management jobs and get external contractors booked to go onsite to help our engineer to complete their works.
I am able to take what I learned straight into work as we work with live jobs and I can see the effect of my work to get the Customer back into service. I like to know the larger infrastructure and how each part connects to each other to gain my goals of getting customers into service
Very well organised. I learned everything I need to know about during Classroom session about the company. Report my weekly work that adds to my package of my knowledge. I have no complaints when I have been doing this apprenticeship for near 11 months at this point, and I am looking forward to be going through the rest of it.
I gain a load of support from employer as they give me ways I can go further beyond than just completing apprenticeship. They will setup additional training so I can reach my further goals within the company, I can transfer to different areas in the company where I want to work.
They give us everything we need to help receive the highest possible score in our final assessment. They give us enough exposure to the teaching needed for success so we can bring it forward in our career to gain the most from it all to get the most success in out future
It helps give me a greater understanding of my role so I know what I am looking for to help the engineer receive the most help for completing his job by bringing up the job on our end and give him the details needed like address and customer's name and number
There are so many available. You can take part in charity events to help raise money for the charity of your choice. They have Football teams you can join up with. It is like being in University again with the amount of societies available and if there isn't then if you have enough people, you can make your own.
Yes
I think BT is a great company. You can plan your future with them and get to know the larger network. Go to different parts of the company as each section of the company is not all the same. I enjoy coming into work every day for the next challenge ahead.
Best be honest with your employer, they will take what you give them and be able to help you out. If you are missing any needed skills, tell them and they will help you get them skills throughout the apprenticeship and have you ready for your future success within BT
