My day to day role is as a sharepoint developer, I am given a huge amount of trust and respect and am allowed to work myself, being a HA does not hold me back at all.
So far I have been developing existing skills as I already had skills as a developer before starting at Capgemini.
I enjoy my apprenticeship programme, I don't feel restrained being a HA and I feel as trusted and included as any other employee.
I feel very valued by Capgemini, they have made it clear that they will do everything they can to ensure I enjoy my time with them an gain valuable experience from it.
QA can be disorganised, it took a while for me to fully understand what was going on within the QA Apprenticeship programme and it was difficult to get support for this.
Initially it was hard to get support, but we have recently changed our assessor and now support is easy to access.
Capgemini give me as much support as they can, including giving me study days if I need them. The Apprenticeship manager is easy to contact and friendly, and will do everything she can to help.
The Capgemini Apprentice salary is incredibly good, any travel to client site is covered separately by the company, aswell as any overnight stays and food required whilst working away
Capgemini always provide opportunities to get involved in events taking place within the company, from inter team football games to charity work.
Yes
Its an incredible opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and industry experience from one of the biggest companies in the IT consultancy sector. Compared to other apprenticeships the pay is incredible and my opportunities within the company for promotion are great.
Make sure you know about the company, do your research and be prepared. Relax in your interviews, no one will try and trip you up, they try and give you opportunities to demonstrate why you should be chosen over anyone else. Most of all be dedicated and stick at it, the process can be quite lengthy but stick at it and work hard and you cant go far wrong.
