I am currently in a Marketing role - The degree apprenticeship allows you to move around: Supply Chain, Marketing, Commercial Development and Sales. I am now on my second rotation and this consists of creating new content working with content studio and also creating campaigns
I have learnt the below skills so far: Time Management Networking Communication Data Analysis Self Management Creativity Challenging Conversations Leadership Managing work load
Overall I do enjoy this programme as this allows me to build a skill set throughout so many different divisions also I get to go to university every six weeks for around a week this is where we can socialise and meet new people etc.
I believe the program is structured well as the university modules align with the roles I do at work so I am able to add what I have learnt at university to my place of work.
I received range of support as I have mentor also I have the previous cohorts on my scheme that are always happy to help. Also I have access to help from the academy team.
I get a lot of support from my training provider as I can always send them an email and they are able to help also I have a work based coach that helps us and also explains the concept to my manager and how the 20% of the job works.
The qualifications are aligned with my job role and allows me to use me learning at work to add value to the organisation.
There are things you can get into on the side for example: I do a lot of opportunities within youth ambassador therefore allowing me to connect with sixth form students or college students to share my experience etc.
Yes
I would recommend this to a friend as I am able to do two things at once. I am building experience as well as getting a degree. Also I get to meet so many new people on my course.
I would give the tip to just be yourself throughout the interview process. And also express what you are interested in this can help when finding the placements when you start.
