I help with development for new sauce and seasoning produce. I formulate recipes. I make up recipes. I post and do the admin for formulas. I run stock intake within the food lab such as ordering ingredients and getting rid of old stock. I help to run inductions for new starters.
I have learnt everything I know from griffith. They have taught me not only work skills but life skills too. Since starting I have learnt all about food and food related substance. I have learnt how things work together. I have also learnt how to speak in a crowd and a confidence boost.
I enjoy my program 80% of the time. I enjoy the visits and blocks to uni. I enjoy the work and the workload as a good level. I enjoy relating what I do at uni towards work and work based projects. I enjoy the experience of it all and look forward to coming.
My program is reasonably organised. Sometimes things will not get set in time. This can make it hard to squeeze in around work. This has got a lot better the last few months though as the course is more organised now. The course is structured well and the block weeks are organised well.
I get a lot of support from work. My mentor and boss are amazing at helping me and if they aren’t there there is always someone to help out! They give me time to do my work and explore the workplace around me. I wouldn’t know half as much without them!
The training provider are very good during block weeks and can be found around to help out. They are almost as good outside of block weeks with only a few no reply’s on emails. They have really improved their communication since the beginning of the year. It is much better now.
My training at my provider helps me to put into context what I learn and work helps to but it into aspect. This helps me to see both sides easily and helps me to understand if better. They are both really helpful and really help me to learn in a new way!
I get involved with several things beyond at work. For example charity events and sports events related to charity events. I also often take part in bake offs. I have taken qualifications such as food safety level 2 through work to help increase my knowledge and work within the company
