My daily role consists of, answering queries from insurers and clients, getting set tasks to do with our clients renewals. This includes pre-renewal tasks and post renewal/ any mid term adjustments. As i am on an apprenticeship, i also try and do as much revision as possible in my free time.
I have learnt and developed many skills during my apprenticeship. I have developed my communication skills, along side my team work skills. I have also learnt a lot about insurance and insurance broking while taking this apprenticeship. I have even developed my skills on applications such as excel, powerpoint and word etc.
I enjoy this programme a lot, I have been able to learn something very interesting to me and also gain experience and qualifications. The people i work with have really helped me settle in and enjoy working there as everyone has been very friendly and helpful. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this apprenticeship and my career at Willis Towers Watson.
I think the structure of this apprenticeship is very good, how the apprenticeship is structured and the different modules at different times linking onto another is very good, but sometimes the organisation of it in my experience has messed up a few things, and can be a long process to sort things out, but as a whole it is good.
I have always received a lot of support from my employer, she has been very helpful since my first day. Recently i have been receiving less help, which as a whole is more help as she is letting me get on with what i need to and making me think for myself more and take responsibility for what i am doing.
We get a lot of support from our training provider, as we get given the text books as well as the online versions. We also get weekly/ fortnightly sessions usually 3 hours long to go over and cover what is in these text books, and also get given recordings of the sessions, and mock papers to help practice for our exams, which has been very helpful.
The qualification and working towards this qualification actually helps me a lot more than i thought it would, as it gives us deeper knowledge into things so when doing something for a client or insurer, sometimes you may be answering a query and can explain your answer in more detail as you have that extra bit of background knowledge from the apprenticeship sessions etc.
There are many networking events, and also just being able to go into the office realy helps with networking. Also every team in Willis Towers Watson is different, but a lot of teams try to have as many social events as possible, so everyone can meet and get to know each other, this also then improves team work as we get more comfortable with each other.
Yes
Because it is a very professional and organised company, their values mean a lot to them and they try to better themselves everyday. Everyone at Willis is also very friendly and always willing to help, and just the job role/ apprenticeship itself is very good and interesting. Willis will also give you many opportunities to move around inside of the business and widen your knowledge.
The main piece of advice would be to answer everything to the best of your knowledge and do research on Willis Towers Watson, as they like to know that you are interested in the company and know what you are talking about. Willis like to hire people that show that they want to work there and expand with the company.
