  • My role involves rotating around different sectors on the business for a few months at a time to develop knowledge and skills required for me to become a fully trained and qualified maintenance technician

  • As I came straight from secondary school I did not have any real skills or knowledge on engineering and so as a result I have learnt and developed a lot of new skills and have gained a lot of knowledge

  • I really do enjoy the programme that I complete, I get to work closely with different people from every aspect of the business and develop my skills and knowledge along the way

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is structured very well overall, there were teething problems when we first started but that is to be expected and these were quickly resolved.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • On a daily basis you receive plenty of support from your employer when it is required

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have weekly meetings in place with our training provider in which we can carry out the work required, ask questions and develop our skills

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Overall the qualification does help significantly to perform better in my role, I have gained knowledge and skills that I now use on a daily basis

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There used to be quite a few extra-curricular activities but due to COVID-19 alot of these have now stopped

  • You gain lots of knowledge and skills that can be used on site at work as well as back at home

  • Be hard working, show a desire to want to develop yourself and push yourself further
