My role involves rotating around different sectors on the business for a few months at a time to develop knowledge and skills required for me to become a fully trained and qualified maintenance technician
As I came straight from secondary school I did not have any real skills or knowledge on engineering and so as a result I have learnt and developed a lot of new skills and have gained a lot of knowledge
I really do enjoy the programme that I complete, I get to work closely with different people from every aspect of the business and develop my skills and knowledge along the way
The program is structured very well overall, there were teething problems when we first started but that is to be expected and these were quickly resolved.
On a daily basis you receive plenty of support from your employer when it is required
We have weekly meetings in place with our training provider in which we can carry out the work required, ask questions and develop our skills
Overall the qualification does help significantly to perform better in my role, I have gained knowledge and skills that I now use on a daily basis
There used to be quite a few extra-curricular activities but due to COVID-19 alot of these have now stopped
Yes
You gain lots of knowledge and skills that can be used on site at work as well as back at home
Be hard working, show a desire to want to develop yourself and push yourself further
