I assist my Relationship Manager in looking after his Portfolio of clients. On a day to day basis, I play a vital role in drawing down loans, opening accounts, answering emails and phone calls. In addition this, I attend regular meetings both internally and externally.
The qualifications I am working towards include: Level 3 Senior Customer Advisor in Financial Services, Professional Banker Certificate and my Certificate in Lending. I complete regular training courses in: Competition Law, Risk Management and diversity and inclusion. Within in my role, I have developed my customer service skills.
The work is very varied and no hour is the same. There is a good company culture and I feel very well supported by my team.
From day one I was thrown into the job, learning as I went along. The introduction was thorough and set me up well. The training has been ongoing and I am well supported by my colleagues. I have one day a week dedicated to studying.
I have regular check ins with my line manager, as well as plenty support available on the intranet site. My colleagues are also always available to support me.
I have monthly check ins with my training provider as well as a dedicated learning hub online.
It has provided me with context for the role, deepening my understanding of what i do on a daily basis. It has also allowed me to demonstrate my skills as a trusted adviser to my customers.
We have quarterly socials within our teams and departments. These include a range of activities, both including alcohol and sober activities. We are required to take a day to volunteer work each year. There are networking events, that we can help plan as well as attend.
