My role in my apprentership is to be a maintenance engineer at the hams hall plant and to grow my knowledge and skills in order to progress in my career. My role is also to go to college frequently to gain basic fundamental skills to use in things such as my placements etc.
I have learnt a lot of new skills that I had no have been able to without my apprentership. These are things such as electrical wiring, soldering, PLC programming and numerous hand on skills that will be crucial in the engineering career that I plan on progressing in throughout my life.
I enjoy my programme to the highest level. The hands on aspect of my apprentership is very involving and exciting to complete and the support that I receive from my employer is of the highest level I could have expected before my apprentership had started and this has helped me from the start to this current point
My programme is organised perfectly. I am aware of the duration, follow on opportunities, different stages in my apprentership and what I need to do to succeed. The college I am training at is providing me with the skills needed to take into work and my employer is giving me the resources to help me through the course.
I receive any support that I ask for and more. If I need any advice or help from my employer they respond in very quick periods of time with all of the information to get me through a challenge and they also make me aware of any changes of my course to make me aware of future issues and how to work around them
I receive a lot of support from my training provider as I am being taught by many highly skilled people in each aspect of my engineering apprentership and they are covering all uncertain areas whilst highlighting what I thought I knew already providing a good balance of learning throughout as a whole
It helps me massively in my role as without being taught the knowledge and mental/hands on skills I would feel completely isolated and lost in the working environment back at plant. It helps me have the basic knowledge to build off without starting at complete scratch when moved full time to plant.
I am unaware of this at current time but I believe there are extra curricular activities such as a company football match etc for the workforce to build a good bond over.
Yes
BMW is one of the worlds leading companies and it is a privilege to work for them. Along with this they also have one of the best training providence platforms I have ever seen and been apart of. The professionalism and respect towards their workers is at the highest level and they have the employees in mind along with performance making you feel welcomed and needed
Be yourself and give them as much respect to them as they give you as this goes a long way
