My role for PwC was as an Audit associate. You were assigned to an audit team and would test the clients financial results to ensure they were accurate and complete
I developed my excel skills and knowledge of the audit industry
The team that you work with has a major impact on the enjoyment of the job. During the placement I have worked with one exceptional team which made the work enjoyable and my other teams the made the work feel a lot more mundane.
Very well structured. The university supports us through our exams and when we come to the practical placement there is some support in place which is often needed but is there.
Personally not much but there is some support there if required.
We have yet to experience that as all of our exams have been carried out at university.
The qualification help your general knowledge of the accounting industry but as an associate a lot of the skills you are learning are not from the exams. You are getting up to speed with the software used for the job.
No. The placement is only during busy season - when the company do not encourage extra-curricular activities. They only expect you to work during the week.
Yes
It is a good place to start your career. You meet lots of similar ambitious people and have good job progression.
