I was involved in the auditing procedures section of Pwc. I have had the chance to work with different clients on different team. This being my first ever placement in this field I was able to learn a lot of new thing through the experiences offered to me by PwC.
Throughout my placement I was able to both enhance my already existing skills and develop new ones. For example I was able to truly develop team working because all of the procedures are done in a team environment which helped me understand better how a truly efficient team works. Also, I was able to develop the skill of curiosity which is vital in such fields.
The program was fascinating and exciting all throughout. This is because I was able to meet with people from around the world and be able to communicate and work with them with similar goals. Everyone in the firm is friendly and above all helpful which is something extremely important for a new trainee.
This program is so well organised that you will not understand that you are in the firm for only three to four months. This is because on the culture of inclusion that there is in PwC which is very important for a newly starting accountant in the field of audit.
There was unlimited support from the employer. Support was coming from from all of the management levels which means that even partners were open to discussion and whatever questions and thought a trainee might have had which made my placement much easier and helped me develop even more without anxiety about communication.
There was plenty of support from bot PwC and the university that deliver the program towards the qualification with a career coach from the firm and plenty of support teams from the university. These were particularly helpful to what steps and actions need to be taken along the way of this placement.
My apprenticeship has helped me to better understand how auditing works and how everyday procedures are being carries on in this kind of large firms. Also, understanding the procedure helps me develop better theoretically in the university because I can now practically understand why certain auditing procedures need to be done.
Of course there are plenty of extra curricular activities that someone working in PwC can get involved in. Some examples are flying starts socials, curry nights, office breakfast and many more societies and activities that are going on every day in the offices. This is extremely important for me because this give out a sense of inclusion.
Yes
For plenty of reasons. PwC is a professional firm which helps every single one of its employees to improve on what they are doing. There is great communication in the firm which makes it much more easier for a new trainee to develop through asking questions and getting help from seniors.
Do not be anxious and terrified that you are going to apply to a big four firm because firms like PwC are extremely friendly and they truly care about the wellbeing of the employees first and there is a lot of help available for every single one. Everyone should focus on getting the right interview training in order to get in.
