On a day to day basis I come to college and do classes such as maths, mechanical principles, project and others. we are shown the basics of different CAD software such as inventor and auto cad. we are given different drawings to draw up in 3D. on average we come to college at 8:30 and leave at 4:30 it 5
since joining my apprenticeship I have improved my CAD skills alot. I have also gained a lot of leadership skills and how to work well as a team. I have improved my maths quite alot and my critical thinking skills. I've greatly improved the way I look at 3D objects.
In my program I enjoy working together with my class mates to come up with solutions to problems give. I enjoy dating things uo in 3D CAD software. Having to turn 2D drawings into a virtual 3D object is fun and challenging. I enjoy that I am working with other like minded people.
the structure of the program I'd say is realy good, it was easy to start if with but as the year progressed the tasks got harder but I also got smarter and more capable to do the challenging tasks. Next year I will be moving from college onto the actual site.
The support form our employer and been fine, nothing special. we have had check ups with the people looking after us and they note down all the problems we may be having and anything we think should be changed for the next year apprentices. if we need anything we have alot of people we can contact.
The support towards my training qualifications has been good. I have personally chosen not the do the HNC qualification that they offer. To do the HNC you needed to fill out a big form and explain why they should chooses you to do the HNC course. From what I've heard the support for it is good.
I feel that I have gained alot mire knowledge on my course about CAD than before I stated. I have progressed alot since the beginning in only a few months. I would definitely say that I will perform alot better as a designer now compared to a few months ago.
There is zero extra curricular activities to get involved in. we go to collage then go home. There is no social activitys, sports teams or anything like that. we did go on outward bound one time for a fee days but that was a one time thing. I wish there was more activities to do.
Yes
I definitely would recommend BAE to a friends, infant I do recommend it to them. It is a great opportunity and a great apprenticeship. I have learnt and progressed alot during the last few months. I am glad I am able to take part in this apprenticeship scheme and would recommend others to apply.
My tip would be to apply again of you didn't get in first time. I didn't get in first time and I know alot of people to didn't either but got in on their 2nd or 3rd attempt. If you get rejected try again and use the reaction as a learning opportunity.
