  • My role is a mechanical fitter which means I work fitting and repairing engines, pipes, hydraulic systems and so on. On a day to day basis we are in class working on knowledge questions or in the workshop conducting a practical assessment.

  • I have learnt multiple skills such as using specialist tools, working in a engineering environment and working as a team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed the practical side of my programme and enjoy working in a workshop, however working in the class is not as enjoyable and we are often told to look things up instead of being taught.

  • My programme has many benefits such as a good management and instructor team who are always happy to help when asked but there is a lack of communication between instructors on multiple occasions.

  • We receive good support from our managers, HR, instructors and so on

  • We receive mixed amount of support depending on the trainer with some always checking in on us and others showing up once per day.

  • My trainers have helped me to feel more confident when it comes to working towards my qualification.
