  • During the first year, you are based in a training school, learning basic skills and knowledge. After this, you are placed out in the business among full time engineers. Roles and responsibilities may vary from placement to placement. General things include working with your mentor, drilling etc.

  • Yes. This apprenticeship, regardless of your background, will teach you new things and help you learn new skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the apprenticeship a lot. There is a lot of work that you have to do towards your qualifications and can sometimes be stressful. However, with good management, it is easily done and enjoyable.

  • It is quite well organised. However there has been some slip ups and disorganised sections which can be understandable with the amount of apprentices and the magnitude of the company.

  • Support is easily found and happily provided. There are people you can ask for help and also mental health officers.

  • The business will work with you as much as possible to help you gain your qualifications

  • The qualifications help massively in your role.

  • There is networking and social events. Sometimes it may feel hard to get involved in them as an apprentice.

  • It is a highly well known company. The pay and benefits are amazing. The work is enjoyable. The opportunities that you have are unmatched.

  • Research your role before applying; have some knowledge of the role and business. Make your application as detailed as possible and relate it to the job.
