Apprentice Designer- Currently based full time at college learning about CAD software, Drawing, Communications, Health and Safety and Behavipurs so that we are prepared for working Full Time in the workplace.
New skills which I’ve learnt is CAD- learning about different softwares and programmes- I have also developed my confidence skills.
I enjoy my programme, however due to restrictions it has been difficult to understand what it is we are going into when we go in the Business- it would have been good to have a few taster days in the workplace
It is ok- BAE SYSTEMS are good at providing the college with what training we need in order for us to complete the programme
Receive a bit of support from the employer, however I believe this will increase once we are in the workplace
Receive good support from training providers.
I feel that it will help greatly in performing the role as I have developed some crucial skills which I will need in the workplace.
I’m not too sure
Yes
It is a great career opportunity and helps to contribute towards the Future of Barrow-In-Furness and BAE systems- makes me feel proud to be working for them, knowing what I am contributing towards
Ask lots of questions, get involved in as much as you can as it will help you to gain confidence in yourself as well as how you will be working
