The work experience was a banking/business and finance based. we looked over the different areas within the bank and how each sector contributes to the whole image of a company like HSBC. It was a 5 day week with lunch and breaks, but was carried out virtually due to covid
In this work experience i gained communication skills, leadership skills, relationship management skills. these were gained through the various activities we under went throughout the work experience, we did mock interviews and talked about problem which could arise in the workplace and how we would find suitable approaches to solve these issues.
I really enjoyed this work experience however it was a shame that we where not able to be face to face but i was really excited before the work experience because HSBC is one of the dream companies i wish to work for and love how the staff treated us with the same respect like they would if we were a employee too. 10/10 experience recommend highly.
The work experience was well structed they gave us a timetable of what was going to be taking place and when break and lunch would be planned. all the days were very similar as there were different speakers talking and placed on the board to explain what they do and why it may be interesting to some.
what i learned about the HSBC is that they are a collective diverse workforce who love to introduce more people of different backgrounds. working there would be a great thing for me as i am a person form a BAME background and with all their different groups for BAME, christian and much more.
this work experience help a lot with my direction in career pathway. this pathed the way into finance and my love for investment banking
