In a day to day overview, we do different tasks within the manufacturing industry, this can include going to do different surveys, looking at new tasks and completing different tasks. Some of these tasks include using hand tools, using machine tools, and making different items on laths and milling machines. THis is all done while still doing a HNC at college.
While working here, i have developed many new and different skills but also keeping a good understanding of some of the old skills. I have managed to develop and add to the existing skills i already had and making sure that i can adapt these skills into the workplace while also learning new skills.
When i first started the programme, it was really enjoyable straight away, and i am still really enjoying it now. Everyday is different with new tasks and different things to do so its never the same when learning these skills. There is so many different tasks that are going on so it makes sure its always different when working.
When on the programme, the structure of it is very well organised, there is always something going on and making sure that the weeks are well structured, this allows for you to plan what is going to happen and be able to see what your week is looking like ahead of time.
When working with this company they do give alot of support when its needed, and also support you if are struggling within the company. Whilst also working within the HNC Side, you still get a lot of support from the company if its needed and they are always making sure you are working your best.
When working towards qualifications, the train provider gives a lot of support to make sure you are achieving the grades that are required for you to get through the programme. They are always making sure that you are understanding what you are doing before the assignments are set and have always been very supportive .
While doing the qualification, i feel like this is a really helpful way to learn different and new skills while also learning what you need to do. For example this is helping to learn a lot of new skills such as milling, lathes, and other tools that can be used in the workplace.
When in the apprenticeship, there is loads of different out of work activities that are done outside of the working hours. Some of these include things such as go karting, sailing, rock climbing and many different tasks, These are designed as a team building activies and take place every 2 or so weeks.
Yes
The reason i would recommend this company to a friend is because they are a well known company and also give a lot of training to employees to make sure they are up to the task and allowing them to grow within the businesses. this allows for new skills to be built.
When applying for BAE, its recommend you know some of the background of the company to know what you are getting your self into, this also helps later on within in the company as it allows for new skills to be developed and improve new skills that are to be made while within the company.
