My job title within my firm is audit trainee. My daily tasks involve visiting client sites on a regular basis and communicating with the client on a daily basis. Within audit I work on various sections within the scope of an audit and will regularly meet with clients to discuss any queries o issues that may arise.
I will finish the qualification at the end of September and will have obtained the CFAB qualification. On a more personal basis I have certainly developed my communication skills and am confidently be able to address a client and professional discuss any issues that arise. I have also addressed my organisation skills as my role enables me to juggle various different jobs at a time and therefore organisation is a key aspect of the job.
I thoroughly enjoy working at BDO and work with a great team of people. I have met life long friends and enjoy the office vibe. There is a focus on social events at BDO which I attend regularly. The work load can be challenging which is the biggest drawback of the job with the hours you are expected to work.
I have received two awards whilst being at BDO which has definitely made me feel valued as a team member. The majority of managers and senior staff show their gratitude for the work completed on a regular basis.
I think that better quality training which be of value to new starters around what they should expect when they start and also detailed training on the systems that they will be using. I feel that the BPP workbooks that we are required to complete are not key to our learning and take up a lot of unnecessary time which is not focused on our role at BDO.
Have not experienced much support throughout the programme however a new training provider has now been provided and hopefully this will change.
Good support from counselling manager
