  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am part of an audit engagement team working on PwC audit clients. My role is to complete various workpapers and testing in order to support the audit team, by speaking and requesting information from the client.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My communication skills have greatly improved. I am more comfortable reaching out and starting conversation. This has developed through conversation with the client. Furthermore I am much more competent on excel.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the fact that I can get practical work experience as part of my degree which counts towards the number of practical work experience days I need for my ACA qualification.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well structured in terms of work as we are in PwC during the busiest time of the year. However it is tough to get back to studying after so long on placement

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Well-being catch ups twice a placement and support from my career coach who I can reach out to whenever I need help. On jobs the teams have been very supportive and helpful.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot, our degree is focused on accounting exams which therefore is very helpful towards working towards our qualifications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A good accounting background is very helpful towards the completion of my role at PwC. Therefore the accounting and finance degree gives you adequate background you need to complete your role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I got involved in the office 5-aside football as well as the various social events. I organised and took part in the end of job social with my team.

  • Be interested in the line of work you are applying for. It helps if you are sure on what you are talking about in interviews & assessment days
