  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I was able to develop my auditing skills while on placement. This was my third placement and therefore I was able to further develop skills that I have already got in the past. These include time management, project management, financial accounting and reporting, microsoft excel, presentation and word proficiency too.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I enjoyed my work experience because I was able to work very long hours and got paid about £10 an hour for doing it. I enjoy doing this because I like accounting and therefore it is very suitable for me. I would like to continue this experience by joining PwC full time

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • My work experience was well organised as I had several levels of support from PwC employees at all points. I was passed seemlessly from the flying start team onto my engagements where I was managed by specific audit staff. Then resourcing was able to put me onto other clients throughout

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • I learned that everybody works very long hours and that they secretly enjoy doing it. I also learned that everybody is quite supportive of junior staff which is reassuring. This makes me want to replicate the same support when I become a senior in the future during my time at PwC

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • I think my work experience helped in deciding on my future career path by showing that I would like to continue what I was doing on my previous 3 placements by continuing to work for pwc full time as an auditor in their assurnace line of service as I enjoyed it

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was paid for my time and for overtime, albeit it at a much lower rate than others doing the same work as me. I was also reimbursed for travel when going further than the pwc office, and for expenses such as late evening meals and taxi's home after working into the early hours.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • There were opportunities for networking and meeting other employees as everybody is put into different industry groups within the office. These groups are split by 100 people each and they organise their own social events between themselves. This allows people to network in groups rather than having an entire office event

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend PwC to a friend because they provide good opportunities for career advancement for accountants and good employee benefits such as overtime pay. I had an overall good experience and would like to continue to work for them into the future of my career as an accountant in the UK

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • when joining pwc I think it is important that all new joiners ask lots of questions to ensure that they can develop their technical auditing skills as quickly as possible. This will allow them to ensure maximum career advancement during their time as an accountant, and to pass their exams
