As a flying star for my first placement the first two weeks it was just training to prepare me for the actual work. In the actual work I was mostly rolling forward EGAs from the prior year and attaching current year's files. I had done some work on payroll and expenses as well
I have learn a lot of new skills during my placement. One of the skills I have learnt is to work in a team and to follow orders from the rest of the team members who are more senior that I am. I have also developed my professional scepticism
Throughout my placement as a flying start student I found that not only I have gained a lot of valuable experience towards my accounting career but I have also enjoyed my placement because I have started to learn the job of an auditor. Obviously it was only a small part that I have experienced until know, but I am looking forward to learn even more
The programme was very well structured because we had a training for 2 weeks that showed us and prepared us for what we will be working on and guide us through the software that we were using during the placement. Coaching staff were also very supportive and answering all our questions
When I first joined my first team everyone was very welcoming and it has made me feel comfortable working around them. I was given work mostly from Senior Associates and I was mostly in contact with them, but there were occasions that I have been given work from even more senior staff.
Yes
I would definitely recommend PwC to anyone because I think is one of the best audit firms that someone can get his training from and start to build his accounting career. PwC has a very well known reputation for its auditing work throughout the world and its a very prestigious achievement to work for them
Tips I would have given to anyone that is applying to PwC is that he has no reason to worry or fell stress because everyone is very welcoming and they will explain everything until you understand and will guide you through the work. Working at PwC is a very pleasant experience.
