I travel to collage on the train, I then go about my daily time table at collage. This includes subjects such as communications, maths, health and safety and many more. We usually have 3 breaks in the day. We get about a hour for dinner and two 15 minute breaks to spilt up the day.
I have developed a lot of skills in the it sector and am now a lot more comfortable using basic software such as email and word. This confidence has improved my experience and really helped me to do well with my work. On top of this I have also improved in my subject Areas studied.
I do enjoy my programme. I really enjoy activities such as outward bound and stem opportunities as it gives you the option to change up your routine. I also enjoy subjects such as health and safety as I enjoy researching various information and definitions and putting it into the report format.
I think it could possibly be more structured in terms of the lessons. Sometimes we don’t have tutors or we don’t get much done however this has also improved my personal responsibility levels and has taught me to meet deadlines without push from anyone else. Overall our days are structured well.
We receive a lot of support from bae systems. We have various people we can go to for help if we are struggling and I trust that they will help us with our needs. There is also programmes in place to ensure we have a easy time and there are no complications.
We have tutours who are qualified to teach each subject and we receive help from these. We also have groups on teams and canvas platforms which allow us to contact such people from home. This means that support can be given in any situation and really helps when you need it.
The technological improvements I have made during the past 6 months have been massive and without the support I have received this would not be possible. I have also gained experience on cad and various other software which should in future help me with my role. I think the collage environment prepared you for your job.
There are some activities I can get invoked with however due to covid this is difficult. I would like to start getting involved in such experiences when the opportunity is given. I also would need to consider my collage work and balance out that with the extra activities I am entertaining.
Yes
Because I believe bae have aided my confidence massively and the opportunity has given me different skills which I otherwise wouldn’t have. I also have been able to do more things eating money at my age. Overall I think the experience is great and I would recommend it highly.
Put a lot of effort into the application and really apply yourseld during the interview selling your good qualities because in the end the effort is all worth it and you won’t regret it. If you are unsure about applying I definitely would even if you change your mind you can’t loose anything.
