Members from all different banking branches of HSBC gave us a talk through their roles. These included, but wernt limited to; compliance, HR, global markets, IT and fraud detection. There were also classes for candidates to improve their CV, team communication, public speaking and key skills to working in finance.
I learnt how to structure my CV and tailor it so that it makes me stand out. I developed my public speaking and thinking on my feet skills in the mock interview. I also developed essential connections that will be helpful in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in working in the financial sector in the future as it groups you with like minded people and you gain a lot of skills that will become useful early on.
Very well organised. There were some technical hitches on the zoom call, but everything that could be controlled was perfectly timed and executed very well
On the final day the mock interviews were conducted by interns. After the interview we were able to ask the intern questions. This provided me with a greater understanding of the culture by someone who is very much present in the firm. Very interesting.
It has increased my interest in working in the financial sector as the atmosphere and connections made were very enjoyable.
No, this was an unpaid, virtual work experience.
As it was over a zoom call the networking wasn’t as great as it would have been in person. But nevertheless there were chances to speak to employees and other candidates.
Yes
Very interesting and it will benefit in the future
Make sure you have work experience and team skills in your CV. Make sure you are ethical in the question test and just relax in the telephone interview.
