On a daily basis I interact with customers helping them with their business banking queries. I look after a portfolio of customers who I offer lending and NatWest products to. The goal of my role is to ensure I am providing the best customer service to my clients and that I am upholding the values of the organisation.
Yes, I am constantly learning in this role, especially with it being customer facing. Other than the practical skills you learn on the job that help you succeed in the role, you also learn a lot of soft skills and about yourself. This role has allowed me to develop my confidence in speaking to lots of different people and collaborating across different sectors of the organisation. I have also built up my resilience and desire to take on difficult challenges in my job.
I really enjoy my programme. Everyone I meet is very friendly and supportive of my development. There is always someone to help and I am always working in a constant learning environment so it never gets boring
The programme is fairly organised. We have a set timetable and learning support which guides us on the steps that we need to take. Everything is clear and understandable
I receive a lot of support from my line manager but it is dependent on your role and work can sometimes clash
The training provider has been really helpful with setting us up and getting to know us all. They are always happy to help with any issue and are very supportive
Yes, the organisation encourages the employees to get involved in external activities that give back to the community or allow your team to bond. this can bee tree planting, fundraising or local events. NatWest also allow employees to set a few working hours aside for volunteering or charity work
Yes
NatWest has a great sense of community and purpose. All the people I have worked with within the bank have been amazing and I think the organisation really values its customers and employees.
Be ready to learn. The bank is a constant learning environment so if you are someone who is enthusiastic about learning and working with customers/collaborating with other sectors of the bank. I think you will be perfect for this role
