on a day to day basis i am involved in the design of electrical systems across a range of different systems. i am part of a team that i interact with daily and ensure that i keep everything i am doing up to date and of a good standard. my jobs vary from day to day
in the first year of my apprenticeship i earned a level 3 qualification and have completed the first year of my 2 year HNC in electrical engineering, with the second year being completed after this may/june. i have learnt many new skills in my job role that will help me progress in the future
i really enjoy my programme at BAE systems as it is teaching me life lessons that i dont think i would be able to experience anywhere else. the teams that i have been on in my apprenticeship have welcomed me and helped me with work greatly. the company is very professional and deals with problems that arise well
when i first started this apprenticeship everything was very well organised and structured in the first year of college. as i finished the first year in college and moved onto the site and into the offices everything is very well organised and i can get support whenever i may need it.
in terms of support that i receive from my employer, there are plenty of different people who i can speak to when i am in need of different kinds of help such as help with work, help with time management and many more. i receive monthly calls from my skills coach to check up on me
in terms of support for my training for my qualifications there is a lot of support from the tutors and from the company to ensure that i can gain my qualifications with the best results possible. the tutors will regularly check how assignments are going to see if we need any help along the way
i dont really think that the HNC i am completing at college is helping me with my job role but it certainly may help as i develop my career to get into new positions and learn new things already having that knowledge in my head from the qualiffication will help greatly
due to covid there were not many different activities to get involved in at work but now that everything is settling down there is more and more talk of things that i will be able to get involved in to socialise with the team and get out of the office
Yes
i would definately recommend this company to a friend as it is the biggest company around this area and employs most of the town that i live in and will keep expanding so there will be countless oportunities to develop and progress in a career for a top company that gives many bonuses to employees
just ensure that you have the qualifications that are required to work at the company and just be yourself and im sure that you will do fine, if you do everythiung that is needed from you then you will have a good time with a great company that will help you progress gratly
