I deputy manage a large nursing home with around 70 residents and 160 staff. I oversee all aspects of recruitment, retention and supervision as well as assisting with occupancy and clinical management. I am required to implement innovation and work with the ongoing challenges of the pandemic and the social care crisis.
My Level 5 has taught me a lot about the research underpinning health and social care. It has also been useful to develop an external professional relationship with my trainer.
Massively
It was a bit disorganised at the start but I think that was because I was on a brand new programme.
Lots, but it is very busy in social care at the moment and trainers who worked in social care years ago won't be able to appreciate what it is like now.
Lots. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is excellent. Would highly recommend.
Significantly. The workload and the development side go hand in hand. It's one process and that's how CPD should be.
Little. This could be worked on.
Yes
Care is about the people - staff and service users. If you don't care - you're in the wrong job.
It's more full on than people realise but it will change your life.
