  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am pipefitter in BAe systems and what I do my first year is go to Furness college and do a pipefitting course and just do the basic pipefitting course and what we do is install pipe systems and test them and cyt and square and deburr pipe and we create offsets

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have deleloped loads of new skills in my job by learing how to use certain machinary and hand tools like the handsaw,deburrer,draw bender,file and loads more and i have been ale to use a bandsaw ,tig welding set and pressure systems as well. so i have klearned loads of new skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i really really reallly enjoy my experince in my apprenctiship as i have l;eanred new skills and i have been able to meet new people from all around teh place and it has also given me a chance to upgrade my knowledge and understand in pipefitting to a much further understanding,

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i feel it was very organised but there is only one thing that isn't that organised when it comes to the communcation with furness college as there is massive lacking in communcation betweeen the two.that is all that is needed to more better but everything else is fine

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i recive alot of support from my employer like when i needed to get some more PPe for the workshop aka gloves and glasses and ear protection they are alwasy helpful to help me get teh PPE i need at the time and there are good with talks and that

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i recive alot of support from my training provider in furness college thye alway help when i need it but how the whole covid situation there isnt that much teachers there soemtime which is understanable but other than that there is nothing wrogn with the support i am getting from college

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel that the qualification im getting throgih my trainging provider is very good as it helps me preform in my role as pipefitter as it prepares me for theworking life and getting used to the enviroment i will be introdcued to which very good for me to get to use to it .

  • there is no extra curricular activities to get involved in at your work its just work i have been infromed of anything but this isnt a problem as im just fine witht ht ejust the work ive got now i belive further into my apprecitshiop i will probadly expeience this much more

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its good moeny good location and fun and good learning expeicne and a good long term job potentiallyy. i would highly recomend my maqtes to this as there is also loads of location all round the world and loads of differentpositions witht eh company and its great expience for everyone


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • get in and then your fine there not really much advice that i can give but just go for trhe apprenicahip or job the one you will enjoy the most and gain the most so do alot of reseach on it before you do any type of decisions on the topic
