Carry out maintenance on pumping stations across the waste region, and carry out reactive work fixing issues
Learnt a lot from college, health and safety, advanced maths, electrical, then learnt job specific bits like how pumping stations and the waste networks work
I enjoy it, my colleges and peers are great and I like the work hours 7:30-15:36
The first year was not great due to an awful college Guilford activate, but no it's better at Basingstoke college, work is getting better structured due to gaps in management which have now been filled
Alot of support with regular reviews and meetings, an issues I feel I can easily raise
Enough support this year at BCOT last year at Guildford was poor
Mixed, some units we study are pointless I don't think we would ever use them but some are good like electrical and health and safety units
Not that I know of
Yes
Because it's a good place to work in terms of enjoyment and good levels of support. Also you learn enough for good personal development
Don't apply if you don't like sewage as it can be a dirty job, apart from that go for it, it's such a big company so there is opportunity to move and progress
