  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Throughout my level 3 business admin apprenticeship I will work as an apprentice within 5 different teams within different functions. Currently, i work within the FCAS team. I work from home and occasionally go on site. Day to day i do work on different toolsets and apps such as excel and powerpoint for my manager as well as attend meetings.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to be confident and expand on my communication skills. I have also learnt how to use different softwares such as excel, powerpoint, outlook. I have learnt to write formal emails and create meetings and agendas. I have also learnt to be punctual as well as organised when coming to meetings.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I extremely enjoy the level 3 business administration apprenticeship scheme. I find everyone to be very supportive and helpful as well as welcoming. I have enjoyed both my placements so far as well as the college days that are held once a month. I find the work load to be at a good level as well the assignments.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The level 3 business admin apprenticeship is very well organised and structured. The 5 placements over the 2 year time period is organised in a way that i see different areas of the business and the different functions to ensure optimal learning. The one college day a month is also structured well.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive optimal supports from my employer currently as well as in my previous placement. Everyone i have worked with up to now have been extremely welcoming and helpful and have set me up for success in my upcoming placements and time at BAE. I am always receiving support from everyone.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Within the level 3 business admin apprenticeship scheme the training providers are very supportive when it comes to assignments and working towards our qualifications. The resubmission scheme in our assignments allows us to fix mistakes and the college days are very informative and well organised and interactive. We have calls where they check if we are ok and need help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Within the level 3 business admin apprenticeship scheme the training towards the qualifications helps me perform within my placements and job roles at BAE significantly. Our college days teach us the ways of businesses and increases out.l business knowledge on subjects such as stakeholders, protecting documents and records, policies and regulations etc.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within the level 3 business admin apprenticeship scheme the there are always extra curricular activities to take part in to go towards our off the job log that we must complete within the scheme. For example i took part in a podcast for the RAF during national apprentice week and some filming in the ASK.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend the level 3 business admin apprenticeship scheme to a friend because of the constant support and friendliness of employees. There are also endless opportunities within BAE systems such as the share scheme, travelling across the world, expanding business knowledge and experiences, starting a pension, career opportunities etc.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Sone tips and advice i would give to anyone that is thinking about applying to BAE Systems and for the level 3 business admin apprenticeship scheme in particular is to do research and learn about the company proper to interviews. Make sure you prepare by watching videos, reading the website, talk to people who work know the company etc.
