I am currently in my first year at British airways where in which I am studying for my Cat A part 66 license at Kemble airport resource group. The course is planned out exceptionally as I am gaining practical experience and skills and theory knowledge simultaneously!
Yes! I have learnt loads especially practical wise, the instructor we have is amazing and is teaching me so much, I am able to ask questions so I could build my practical hand skills using the experience of the instructor. I can’t quite believe how much I have learnt!
I love the programme, I can’t believe how much I have learnt in such a short space of time. I thoroughly enjoy everyday and I can’t believe I’m getting paid to do it, apprenticeships are definitely the best form of further education no doubt.
The programme has had a few changes here and there but only for the benefit of us in mind
A lot, our employer is always on hand via a text message and they come down regularly to meet with us so we can chat about any problems that we may have in person.
Our training provider has been amazing and always there for us whatever we need, everyone is really friendly and they all seem to really want to provide us with the skills and knowledge we need to gain our qualifications
We are gaining so much experience and base skills in order to build on them when we are back working with live aircraft at Heathrow so I am satisfied with how we are being prepared so that we can further build on our core skills we are learning now
Yes, BA have offered to pay for our riat air show tickets so that we can network with like minded people.
Yes
Because I am thoroughly interested in everything I am doing so I’m really enjoying learning and developing new skills so that this doesn’t even feel like work at all so getting paid for it is simply just a bonus.
Be yourself as BA seem to look for people who are genuinely interested in this field of work so if you aren’t interested you will find the course very hard. I’ve had a smile on my face every single day of working with BA, I love it!
