I have the opportunity to work in different roles and the role I am in at the moment provides a great opportunity for me to learn and work towards my goals. I have the responsibility to provide my managers with statistics in how to better our services. I also manage the queue of said service an assign tickets towards our colleagues.
Yes I have learnt many skills. I currently use excel a lot and was very limited in my ability with excel but as i have continuously been using it, i have learnt how to do many things with excel. Furthermore, I am provided with courses and training by my company and am on the path to obtaining my certificate in AWS cloud.
My programme is really good and I enjoy it a lot. I get to interact with many different people from many different backgrounds and I get to learn and work together and this is the best way I learn. The managers are very helpful and makes working a lot easier. I would say i enjoy my programme very much.
My programme is structured very well. As a person coming straight from college, it can be overwhelming but IBM are very helpful in accommodating everyone who joins. We have a lot of support with foundation managers and general managers and also skills coaches from university so we are helped every way. The structure of the programme is great and it’s very well organised.
Support from my employer is endless. We have many managers ranging from foundation managers to general managers and also skills coaches from our university. This enables us to be able to be comfortable if we ever have a problem or need help. My foundation manager is very helping in providing support and my managers are also amazing.
I receive a lot of support from my university. We have many lecturers and teachers from the course that we do that provide general support for our learning but on top of that we have skills coaches who help in any other way we need. whether it’s if we have a problem with our employer or just general personal problems, they are super helpful and provide amazing support every step of the way.
As I have come from college, i came from very limited experience and not really fluent in a lot of technical aspects of the work. Going to university has helped me a lot as it helps me understand a lot of the technical work i have to do. sometimes i get confused but as i am learning i understand more and more.
Yes. there are many, both at work and university. We have many communities ranging from connecting women, BAME, etc. which i am apart of. These communities regularly hold events and social gatherings to discuss social events professionally and due to the pandemic, we have online meetings and they are a great way to socialise with many people from different backgrounds and cultures.

IBM are a great company and a big name company and they value their employees a lot. I am 2 years into my apprenticeship and it’s been amazing. I have learnt so many things, i am working towards my goals and have the opportunity to develop in the way i want to and IBM are very helpful in helping me reach my goals.
Apply soon. Look for what you want to do early and apply as soon as you can. IBM have an assessment centre as part of their application process and that is a way to definitely excel and shine. I would say i’m reserved and quite introverted but what helped me pass the assessment centre was putting myself out there and going out of my comfort zone.
