A daily role is to update the financial information for new materials soon to be in production with Nestle. This ensures they are taxed correctly. Also, I prepare a monthly financial forecast for Purina, the business that I support.
I never would have thought of myself as shy, but my confidence in networking with people a lot higher than me has boosted immensely. I have also developed my mathematical skills by using them day to day to add value.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. I have always loved working with numbers and now being able to do so to add value to a company is incredible. The support is fantastic which makes it so easy to ask questions and in turn enables me to learn so much.
My programme is extremely well structured. I have specific tasks which are extremely beneficial for my development. I have frequent calls with my manager to discuss my development and to push myself. I know about my role changes upcoming and the plan for my replacement.
When learning the role, initially I would be shadowed by a colleague to ensure I was happy with what to do. Even now, if new issues arise, I always have someone to ask and will be ensured that they will take it on and get it sorted for me.
Kaplan are incredible. I have monthly catch-ups with my talent coach where we discuss my progress through my CIMA exams and ensure I am on track for my end point assessment. I can ask any questions and if she doesn't know she will seek the answer elsewhere.
CIMA modules vary, from management accounting which is extremely directly relevant to business economics, which isn't so directly relevant yet still benefits my knowledge of the business. It really enhances my knowledge of the business we operate in.
With Purina, the category I report for, we have monthly team events where we network with others who support the business as well as having presentations focusing on anything from how the business is operating and meeting goals.

Nestle is so supportive. They ensure we maintain a good work-life balance, giving us a 'flex' day, a day off, when we work over time. When I have exams I get a few days off to prepare. I am gradually getting more responsibilities to aid my development.
Always be yourself. Nestle are extremely accepting of all walks of life and will support all.
