We have 6 month placement rotations whereby we get to pick and choose where we wish to go and do a placement. I started in customer services to get a good understanding of what we deliver to our customers and I have now moved on to Brand and Marketing.
I have developed my customer service skills as I had never had a customer facing job before so it definitely helped me develop these skills. Also my communication skills have been developed as you're constantly working and talking with other people when carrying out work.
I really enjoy the responsibility that is given to me to be trusted and go away to produce work that I can be proud of. Also, everyone in the business is really welcoming and is always on hand to support you with anything.
It is well structured with 6 month placement rotations across a 4 year period.
I have received a lot of support from everyone within the business as they're keen to learn what we do as apprentices and get us involved.
The degree that I am studying is done through the University of Derby and is all paid for by E.ON. I am given 20% of my working week which works out to one day per week and use this to focus on my university modules.
I can take what I have learnt in my university courses and try and put them into practice within the workplace.
We have community days where all the apprentices get together and each apprentice takes it in turns to create a schedule and include what they want for their community day which is usually followed by an out of work activity.

One of the biggest things for me was the support that is given by E.ON and their understanding of situations. Anything you need to discuss or get resolved there is always someone on hand to help you along the way.
The advice I would give is do your research on what E.ON actually do and what they plan to do moving forward as to me this shows that you have taken your time to invest in looking at how the business operates.
