My role on a day to day basis involves checking through bookings made from the previous day, from this reach I out to guests to via email or over the phone to see if I can assist in anyway to make there stay that much better. I check through arrivals for the following days ready for when our guests arrive.
From this I have learnt many new skills which involve customer communication and interactions which is something that I wasn't my strongest with before this role in Reservations. I have learnt things like how to take payments and process refunds etc. Also with picking up the phone to customers.,
Whilst being on this programme, I enjoy working in the office environment and learning new skills daily along with facing difficult challenges which has been making more and more confident. I enjoy this programme very much and I wish to carry on my career throughout this. I enjoy the day to day tasks I'm challenged with.
Mr programme is very well organized within this in a sense that I have deadlines for things that are set. Throughout each department within the hotel we all work together in a way that communication is clear when needing things for guests the structure and how it is controlled is known by all departments.
Throughout my working day I receive a huge amount of support from my employer where needed, my manager is always happy to help and patient with me if I don't understand a certain something within my role at the office. Even when everyone is busy the office is always willing to help with something if if its not their area.
when working towards my qualifications my training provider is always willing to help when I ask a question or even just anything that I may be stuck on at certain times, during the time in our catch up calls she is willing to talk me through things that I may be struggling on or certain areas.
I feel that my training provider helps me to perform better in my role by helping me with the areas of thing that I may struggle with slightly, and talking me through them, throughout this I always ensure that I am taking notes and writing down important information which has helped me improve daily and means I don't have to use my notes as often.
Here at the hilton there is many other kinds of activities that the office and i can get involved in and help with throughout the departments. during these times the hotel comes together as a whole and often helps with the operations side and setting up/putting away for event and catering.
Yes
I would most definitely recommend Hilton to a friend! This is because Hilton as a brand are always supporting each other and departments with in the hotels work together to make guest experiences the best they can be and come in together to help with events and big conference etc, being apart of Hilton is like having a another family the way we all help each other.
The advise I would give to others wanting to apply for Hilton is always be your self and every single person that works in with in Hilton are always willing to help and you will never feel not helped or alone. Working in Hilton is working with and around another family.
