On a day to day basis, I look at the data provided for hiring, which I then feed back to the stores. I conduct diagnostic tools on all of my stores. I also conduct Welcome Meetings for all of new employees, starting them off with us. I check peoples right to work. I conduct interviews and design our recognition posters.
Since completing my apprenticeship, I have learned different ways of communicating with people. Before I used to just send emails and make phone calls, but because of Covid and not being able to see people face to face, I have learned to use virtual platforms, such as Zoom, Myteam. I always used to work as a team, but I have since built up my team, and I reach out to external people more.
At first I was really enjoying the programme. I was learning new things which was bettering me in my role and then I had to take a break in learning because of Covid, I then had different tutors, different coaches which was making me struggle with my course work, because I felt like I had no one I could go to and different people would be telling me different things.
I believe the programme was very well structured. We was told what we was going to do right at the beginning, we was given access to a site, that had all the information based for each subject. I only had issues when I came back from my break in learning, the new tutor never got in touch with me about sessions, so I missed out on some knowledge, that I then had to go and study myself.
At the beginning my employer done really well with supporting me. I had meetings with my line manager frequently where I was able to ask him for help or just get him to confirm things with me. As it got closer to the end, these meetings were not as often, but I was able to ask other people within my company.
While working towards my qualifications, I had a lot of support from my training provider. I was given a tutor and a coach throughout the process. My last two coaches were amazing, always there when I had any questions. Anytime I got in conduct with them, I would always have a fast reply.
My qualification has helped me a lot within my role. I feel a lot more confidence within my role, which has caused me to hold a lot more meetings by myself. I have a lot of ideas that I am not afraid to put to my franchise and supervisor. I am not afraid to let my management team know if they are doing something that I believe is not right.
For the pass 4 weeks, I have started to work for a new franchisee, who is very new to this role, so we have been spending the time setting up the new business and making sure that the basic stuff for our employees are in place, like, they have uniform, the correct training is being given to them.

McDonald's is a great job for meeting new people, meeting people from different countries, people who may have a different background to you. McDoanld's also has a great number of benefits that you would be entitle to by working here such as, a meal allowance, private health care, employee discounts.
When you applying for any role, always make sure that you put your correct availability, this is something that people don't do. You always need to look at what they are looking for as well and see if you meet the needs of the company before actually applying for the role.
