My role involves working win a project management environment, taking control over actions needed to be done in all aspects of the business. I also run reports with budgets and present the actuals back to my managers to inform them about our progress through the budget and ow much we've spent.
I have learnt lots of new skills, especially in IT but I am now learning to have the mindset of a project manager. I am learning a lot about the aims and objectives of the company any how to use my initiative to make decisions in line with the mission statement.
I really enjoy my programme. I have made lots of connections all around the company and find it easy to do so. I enjoy the college sessions as it helps me learn more about the values the company has. I also enjoy being on site and seeing the physical aspects.
My programme is very well organised. The college days are planned out and given to the apprentices well in advance. I think the order of the topics of the modules is also well structured. Overall I think it is a well organised and structured programme and I am enjoying it.
I receive the most amount of support from the employer, if not directly then I know that support is always available as I receive constant emails making sure I know support is there. My managers have also always made sure I am okay in every aspect and I am supported.
The most amount of support as I will ask them questions about any problems or struggles I have and they are always more than happy to help me. They also ensure everybody's understanding when conducting the training sessions and always allow for any questions to be asked and will answer them.
I feel very strongly about this as for example I have now learned about the policies and regulations of the company. Learning about them will help me comply to them and will train me to be a good employee. I also learn about many other things that help me work better.
Yes there are things called enrichment activities in which you can take part in on behalf of work and not only have fun but also learn. One of them I did was called outward bound and we spent a week in the lake district doing team building activities. Was good!
Yes
They always try to develop and invest in their employees, making them the best they can be. BAE SYSTEMS develops so many skills and helps give you a better working mindset. They also provide a really competitive salary and pension scheme, lots more rewards too. I really like working here.
Do lots of research about BAE Systems, not only about the area that you are applying for but learn about all aspects of the company. For example, what products we make, our customers, our suppliers and our top supplying countries. This company will give you what you put into it.
