My role involves supporting the operation of one of the largest delivery stations in Europe. I deal with procurement for the site and also i am heavily in projects to improve health and safety for our large associate pool. My role requires a great deal of flexibility on hours and tasks and supporting senior leadership decisions.
I have found my skill sets have improved greatly. The course I am on the CMDA course is very well rounded and enables development of existing skill sets and improves other skill sets which may not be commonly used within your day to day roles. I have also found my confidence has improved.
I look forward to the new modules and find the lectures engaging and informative. The additional courses and lectures available have also been useful in skills I may not find normally in my role. I have found reading around the subjects enjoyable and also the time discussing with my fellow cohort.
The programme is very well structured. The fact they have made adjustments to ensure we are able to safely and effectively balance our workload and coursework has been appreciated my our team and my management onsite. I like the fact we do coursework and not exams as I find this more effective to measure my achievements.
My line manager is extremely supportive. We have have one to ones where we discuss workloads on projects and onsite to ensure that I can cover my role and ensure I have sufficient time to cover course worn and lectures. They also support me in purchasing reading materials and textbooks and where needed electronic equipment.
I have never found a time when our lectuerors have not provided sufficient support. We have skills coach's provided and have quarterly meetings with mentor also and line managers to discuss my core progression and also ensure that support is being provided in the right way. I appreciate this very much.
I have found that I am much better at performing in my role since I have had started on the course. I look forward to my job more and have found my skills have been improved and my managers have appreciated my abilities much more since starting the program last year.
We don't really have these planned in Amazon. While we used to have these very regularly we stopped doing these off site as it was found disengaging for lower level associates we do a number of events on site normally on monthly basis with a core theme each month.
Yes
I have found since joining amazon that I have found a group of colleagues who are more like family than work colleagues. They have supported me in my progression, helped me find roles that are more fitting for my skill sets and helped me focus on helping the team in the same manner.
Learn the leadership principles inside out. The are part of the decision making process throughout all management decisions in Amazon. The engagement of associates is also very high as a priority with the process of ensuring that associates feel they are being heard when decisions are being made throughout Amazon.
