I work within Purchase to Pay in Finance. On a day to day basis I am supporting business users in receipting their items so suppliers can get paid. I also work on small projects with the other finance apprentices to help L&D.
I have developed my excel skills massively as it was something I use to struggle with. I am now more confident and work outside of my comfort zone.
I love the apprenticeship programme - it has really helped build my confidence as gain knowledge I wouldn't have been able to elsewhere.
My programme is very structure, we knew what rotations we would be in before we started the programme and where we would most likely end up after. We was aware of what had to happen with our college so we could work towards our AAT qualification.
we receive so much support from our employer, not just only from the early talent team but our L&D managers, line managers, mentors and buddies.
our training provider provides us with lots of support, this being in classroom sessions or in small revision sessions in work hours.
it has helped me perform better as has provided me with a wider knowledge of finance that i might not have covered in my rotation.
there are social activates that we can get involved with within our departments or with the wider group of apprentices that started at the same time as us like bowling, lunches etc. this is going to increase now as the covid guidelines have changed.
