I review the IT tickets which are submitted by other employees at the business and try to resolve as many issues as possible. This varies from; new starters, Outlook issues, Issues with Google, Soft phone or even hardware related issues such as upgrading RAM or Screen replacement and Mobile phone and tablets.
I have learnt may IT skills while at my apprentice ranging from Troubleshooting on; Google, Network, Office 365 and Computers. I have also developed skills in cyber security with learning what to do with malware and how to prevent this. Furthermore, I have learnt Communication skills, with giving 1st 2nd and 3rd line support there are many ways we interact with others.
I really do enjoy working at my apprenticeship, as the Team are really friendly and encouraging with always helping me learn within IT and expand my skills. I also enjoy the work load with this being fun, independent and engaging allowing me to take control on the work I do.
I have only been in my collage program for a month now and I feel like it is going well, with having my first workshop it was easy to follow and the workload was not too complicated. Everything is planned in advanced making it really organised and easy to follow.
My Employer supports me a lot with my work with making sure I am trained and if I don't understand, explains it to me. They also challenge me with giving me more complicated tasks to help my IT Knowledge grow while also conducting PDR to make sure I am doing what I want.
I have not yet had a meeting with my Training provider Since my induction, however they have provided me with templates on how to conduct my work and have provided me with contact details for help if needed. They have also scheduled regular meetings to maintain my growth and progress.
I fell like my course "IT Soloutions" will benefit me a lot in my role as a IT Support Engineer, because within my role I look at various IT issues ranging from Hardware issues to Software issues and being in a IT solution course will allow me understand my role more.
At my place of work there are not many extra-curricula activities to get involved in, however we have just introduced Workplace which is a social network within a business which can be used to set up activities as people around the business engage with one another and are already discussing out of work activities such as golf and gaming.

Some tips and advices I would give others applying to the company I am working at are to be yourself and communicate, with being a office job it is important that everyone gets along as it makes it more enjoyable for everyone involved at the office and everyone who is based around the UK.
